I guarantee that new Tikka of yours shoots like a laser.

Hunter stocks are nothing special but the bolts are slick and the rifles shoot like a million.

You are not going to find many complainers in regards to tikka rifles on this forum I'm afraid.
Maybe try a Ruger forum?

Have worked well for me on all my tikka rifle all the way up to 338 win mag.

If the bolt cycles with the factory trigger group while on safety then something has been modified.

Only difference is the barrel.

Is this a used rifle that you just got? Are you the original owner?
Reloads or factory ammo? Any changes to rifle like new barrel, trigger spring, or bolt?
Lots of info missing for anyone to give a proper diagnoses to your problem.

a regular tikka fits in the compact stock just fine.

I don't understand why any mods or devices are needed for single round firing.

I have no issues at all just tossing round in chamber and closing bolt with empty mag inserted.
Do it with .308, 7mm-08, .300wsm, and .338 win mag.

Just curious why these products or mods are needed

they will both shoot lights out.
If you just plan on keeping rifle stock I would say go with the Sako.
If you like tinkering with your rifles and doing upgrades I would go for the Tikka.
More aftermarket support for Tikka

I own 6 tikkas and all barrels have been free floated.
All shoot lights out.
Free float your barrel, then develop your load.
Biggest issue with tikkas are the long throat in chamber.
Also, don't forget the torque of your stock will have an affect on your groups as well.

My .02

mine shoots tiny groups with 180 gr accubonds and rl17. load to mag length.
Getting 3050fps with no pressure signs.
Groups seem to tighten up with the warmer loads for me anyways.
Best factory ammo I shot was federal premium 180gr triple shok.

Made my 300wsm a pleasure to shoot even with some pretty stout loads.

Are they hand loads or factory rounds?
My 300wsm did not like factory loaded winchester ammo at all.
Always very difficult to lift bolt handle after firing.
Never a problem with any other manufacture or hand loads.

hopefully they have the same bolt pattern and can take any regular rail made for the t3

Awesome rifle.

Make sure scope mounts are solid and torqued properly.
Make sure stock is not over torqued.
Free float the barrel.
If you cant deal with the recoil, get a lead sled to sight it in.

Your going to have a hard time convincing anyone on this forum, or other forums for that matter, that a tikka won't shoot.

I load my 300 wsm accubond to mag length. thats one way to deal with it i suppose.
Never had that problem with factory ammo though.

Before i started rolling my own I always used federal premium trophy bonded 180 gr. in my 300wsm.
Great performance. Cabelas did have them on sale for 25 percent off. Not sure if the sale is still going.

Now I use nosler accubond 180 with reloader 17 in Norma brass loaded to mag length. An absolute hammer.

tikkas sporter barrels can be threaded if you want to put a muzzle brake on it.
Also just throwing on a limbsaver recoil pad can make a world of difference.
You could also put some kind of fill in the stock to add a little weight.

I've heard it is an awesome round.
Especially if you cook up your own loads.

Been wanting to try this for quite some time but have not got around to it.

I just load to mag length for my 300wsm and it has been a tack driver.

A rail gives your more options on eye relief / scope position.

As far as removing rail on ctr, just apply enough heat to the screws and it will come off.
Don't be impatient and strip the screws out.

I replaced mine cause I wanted a 20 moa rail.

If your a reloader your tikka will shoot sub MOA if you do your part.

I've got one with a limbsaver on it.
Came off of a 300wsm t3lite.
Barrel channel was opened up to free float barrel.
It was hunted with a couple seasons so it is used.

not sure about the gen 2 rail but I had same problem with oem rail and when I installed the egw hd 20 moa rail it gave me enough clearance for caps without having to get taller rings.

Ctr easily shoots .5 moa with handloads. 300wsm shoots .65 .75 moa with handloads.
They both shoot better than I do.
Tikkas are awesome

CTR is a slightly lighter profile barrel then a varmint.
It is the older version that is not threaded and uses standard tikka t3 mags.

Isn't that the whole point of a mag fed rifle???

Just bringing a rifle hunting, that has a detachable magazine, sets you up for trouble if it gets lost or breaks.

Very foolish to not have a spare.

Why not carry a spare mag so you can just swap out your mag after your shot or shots?
I think they call that a tactical reload.
Its always good to carry a spare anyways.
