Super Varmint. 223 finally arriving. .
I finally got the FAC for the Super Varmint. 223 i wrote about a couple of months back. In the longish waiting process for the permit (4 months in Sweden at the moment despite the fact that i already have several Firearms) i allo changed my mind and changed to a 600mm long barrel instead. It's being threaded for a moderator as we speaker. 18 x 1 mm threading.
The gun will arrive at our palatial residence during the next week. Finally …
It'll be nice to test the set – trigger and all once it shows up – with the GRS Berserk and all 🙂
I thought the 600mm barrel length would be better choice for longer range shooting so i tossed the original short barrel (540mm = nearly 4″) idea and went the full length route. -

Ok so you are putting the Varminter in a berserk stock? Sorry if I misunderstood. That would be an awesome combination (sorry for the American “awesome” statement”).

Love this rifle! Extremely accurate bugger. The best factory loads i've tested to date are Lapua 69gr and Norma Match 77gr. Truly an excellent gun indeed ..

Did some 200meter shooting today. Shot two equal sized groups with 69gr Lapua Scenar. This group would've been great wasn't it for the last damn shot i managed to pull right and out of the cluster:(

Thanks! Without that drawn shot it would've been nice. The gun has real promise. The bedded GRS Berserk is a great stock. Next time i'll use a proper front rest and rear bag ( Bipod today ) and bolt on a T36 scope. I'll be damned if i can't get 5 shots within 12mm/1/2″ when the conditions are calmer 🙂
And if you guys over there have an access to Lapua Scenar 69gr or Norma Match 77gr – try it ! Superb stuff ! -

I tried some cheap bulk ammo ( Fiocchi 55gr. ) as well while at it. It did surprisingly well at that same 200m. Nothing for BR Comp's but more than adequate for LR hunting or casual range shooting. A 10 shot group.. The target patch is 44 mm/1.73″ in diam.
