Fires on closed bolt
Posted by IHATE223T3 on December 21, 2018 at 2:48 amHey all I have an older T3 chambered in 223. When you close the bolt it will go off doesn’t matter if the safety is on or off. Checked the trigger the weight was fine nothing backed out. The bolt will open when the safety is on. What could it be?

Well, your safety is messed up for one thing. Bolt should not move with the safety on.

More info needed.
Is this a used rifle that you just got? Are you the original owner?
Reloads or factory ammo? Any changes to rifle like new barrel, trigger spring, or bolt?
Lots of info missing for anyone to give a proper diagnoses to your problem. -

Used rifle. Has a jard trigger but factory trigger group does the same thing. It is missing the plastic cover on the back of the bolt

I am wondering if something in the bolt has been modified in some way.
Does the stock trigger assembly lock the bolt when on saftey? -

Bolt is factory and stock trigger group was factory. Had same problems with the factory trigger group.

If the bolt cycles with the factory trigger group while on safety then something has been modified.

Unless you or a previous owner messed with the internals, it is defective and Berreta should fix it. Contact them and send it in. No other good option.
