Posted by splitbeam145 on December 12, 2016 at 3:41 pmGot a T3 lite 7 mm mag. Setting it up for long range hunting. Any scope ring recommendations besides the one that comes with it.

Have a look at Tier One if you can find them , imho there's none better

Are you looking for bargain rings or high end rings?
Regardless of the price you should figure in the price of lapping them. A lapping bar will cost between $30 and $70 US dollars but is neccecary for any ring set aside from the polymer insert types like the Burris options.
For example I paid near $150 for a set of monolithic aluminum rings that should have been true by any measure. I started to lap them and to begin there was only about 30% contactWhat I mean is you can't trust the name, you have to measure.
To be clear, the polymer inset rings are ok to use without lapping, but not as sturdy as a good lapped set of quality rings.

I just put Warnes Fixed Steel rings on my 7 mag Tikka. Rock solid.

You must lap even tier one rings, the polymer inserts are the only exception

No you don't there used by the majority of people over here in England that shoot precision rifles and nobody laps them , it's all to do with the manufacturing and tolerances used

I had no issues with the Dednutz one piece on my Sporter

I like the Dead Nuts (DNZ) one piece mounts too.

Then Sako Optilock´s is a viable option as well.
That said i go with Spuhr or Seekins on my rifles. Spuhr is pricey stuff but the quality is second to none – and the owner of the Company lives just 15 min Car ride from our palatial “Casa de Ville” 🙂 🙂
