Tikka T3 CTR.308
Howdy guys. I m running a CTR .308 in a KRG Whyskey 3 gen5 chassis w/ Vortex Viper PST 6-24×50. I'm using Badger Ordnance medium rings (.885″). I have about 3mm. clearance between barrel and scope. My problem , if you will, is that when i put the bikini scope covers on, the cover drags on barrel. I measured the width of scope covers and they are approx. 4mm. I planned on purchasing a set of Vortex Defender caps but i will also end up with same problem, as they are also 4mm. in width. So, if i install a 20 MOA Gen 2 Performance Series picatinny rail, will that give me enough height to fit the scope caps ? In otherwords , how much thicker is the 20MOA rail than the OEM rail ? It will not help because the 20 moa rail slopes down in the front to cause the scope to point down toward the barrel. So you will actually have less clearance.

not sure about the gen 2 rail but I had same problem with oem rail and when I installed the egw hd 20 moa rail it gave me enough clearance for caps without having to get taller rings.
