I don't have an action that I can weigh, but I just weighed my barreled action at 4.4lbs, and I know that the barrel is right around 2.6lbs, which puts the action ~1.8lbs.

Just bought my 3rd to start a .300wsm build. Definitely can't do better for the price, or almost at all.

Put a dap of hi-slip moly grease behind each bolt lug, and a little bit more on the cocking ramp. Should smooth it out quite a bit.

The only difference in the actions is the size of the ejection port. They're otherwise identical.

Yes and no. The floor plates and magazines are not cross-compatible with each other, but the actions are basically the same. I've used a Ctr bottom metal/TRG-pattern mag with 2 different T3 lite actions, and it has worked fine.

Got to mention how amazing this manners is. What a piece of craftsmanship.

Put a Krieger standard Palma on mine. They turned down the diameter at the shoulder to the beginning of the taper just forward of the chamber. Worked like a charm.

Seems to be. I'm about to send my creedmoor off to get it Inletted properly, and I'm going to have them make the ctr action cut to see if it makes any difference. Bolt throw still seems to be the main issue, which is puzzling to me–Unless they ship the ctr with a modified bolt stop, which doesn't sound like something tikka would do.

Build one! It's not much more than the factory model.

Update:

Slapped the CTRx stock/dbm on my .22-250 varmint model, and it's running fine so far, with one exception. The bolt doesn't travel back far enough to grab the round if it's seated to the rear of the magazine.

Yeah, I'm aware of that. My main concern is regarding whether the CTR/TRG mag will seat properly against a standard T3 action.

Froglube is great for ARs and pistols, and it smells great, but I personally prefer a heavy grease for my bolt guns. Thinner/lighter lubricants can allow the lugs to gall over time. Nathan/IdahoCTD's brakes are excellent, and way too affordable. I almost think he does himself a disservice by pricing them so low. They're really outstanding.

I don't have a stainless rifle, but I think that's sharp looking.

All depends on your chamber. My 6.5 creed loads are 2.810″, and just barely fits the t3 magazine.

There's no reason that round should be going transonic before 1000, unless your MV is like 2300fps or slower.  What twist rate is the barrel? Might just not like the SMK.

beretta USA doesn't really care much about products that aren't $10k+ shotguns. They carry them because they have to, but don't put a lot of effort or thought into it.

100gr is on the heavy side of what will stabilize in your 1/10″. That said, it should really sing in the 90gr area.

I'll bet a Bushnell LRHS would be perfect.

A little update:  MarineTex on the grip, HBRMS bipod, paint on the barrel/receiver, EGW 20moa rail, XTR rings.

Check out Phoenix Custom Rifles. They're killer from what I've heard.

Personally, I just had Long Rifles, Inc rebarrel my T3 with a Krieger, and I had it back inside of 10 days.

Shot this with it last week:

You won't find anyone that makes barrels “for” the T3, but any custom barrel can be made to fit.

I have a Krieger on mine that shoots extremely well.

Same price as a McMillan or even most chassis.  But if it's actually in stock….

It looks really cool, but I think they would have done better to do an aluminum block molded in rather than the glass pillars.

Send it to Long Rifles, Inc. they do it all the time.

Anyone know when they're actually going to release this?  Still nothing on the website other than the original announcement.

There was a rather long thread on SnipersHide about this.  General consensus was that it's not likely, and Beretta USA didn't seem to know anything about it.  That said, they're not known for customer service. It also doesn't really make marketing sense, especially immediately after dropping the hugely popular CTR.

But who knows.

That would be my first step. Also, if your throat is short, you'll be able to see it on the bullets of the rounds you weren't able to chamber. Smoking/sharpie-ing the bullet will help identify it, but if that throat is short enough to keep from chambering, it'll leave a noticeable scuff on the bullet.

Were those rounds hard to extract as well? My first thought isn't headspace, but your COAL to the lands. If the rifle has a throat too short for the round it can do exactly what you're describing.
