As far as I know, you have to get a rifle as a donor and use the action from it.

If I knew they were a 1 in 8″ barrel I would have bought one.

You should have a barrel vice and an action wrench to do this job.  Usually it's the gunsmith that has this type of equipment.  If you try to remove the barrel with the vice in your garage and a pipe wrench you'll likely ruin the action.

Do you mind sharing your 300 Win Mag load using the 180 gr SST?

I'm thinking they won't import that model for some reason.  It's unfortunate.

Opening up the barrel channel shouldn't hurt anything.  It's worth a try.

What you have to do is buy a barrel blank in .30 cal of the shape you want.  Then have a gunsmith thread and chamber it for 30-06

I don't think Tikka customer service is associated with this forum.

Where have you been for 2 years.

I've been shooting other cartridges besides the .22 LR.

I can understand the price doubling in 2009.  The raw material costs had doubled and there was the familiar scare after Obama got elected.  But I don't understand why it doubled again.

I was fortunate to have read something somewhere to clue me in on those screws.  I would have been pretty worked up if I didn't know what I was dealing with.

I have the PACT set up.  It basically works if I keep the nearby static sources under control.  You have to be careful about temperature changes and air movement.  These things can affect the readings as well.

Tikka Shooters Forum favicon icon 66 Bullseyes

What is the diameter of the barrel at the muzzle?  I'd hazard to guess that the hunter weight barrel is not large enough for 5/8-24 threads but you could do something smaller.
