Electronic powder measures
Posted by Larkin on September 14, 2015 at 2:58 pmHi I'm thinking for getting a Lyman gen 6 dispenser , has anybody used one or what do you use , the gen 6 is rated at +-0.1 grn so it needs to be the same or if possible better, I don't need a memory function

I have the PACT set up. It basically works if I keep the nearby static sources under control. You have to be careful about temperature changes and air movement. These things can affect the readings as well.

ThanksI use this scale for reloading and it works great. It will sometimes throw +- .1 but its easy to just tap the dispenser spout and to get the needed weight. in most cases it throws .1 under so it easy to just tap out a little more. If it throws over its east to just dump a little out and then tap it to the weight. The scale really speeds up the reloading process.

I use the chargemaster combo, and while I like it, I find that +-0.1 gr is a bit too coarse for precision loading. I use it to throw charges 0.1 or 0.3 gr short of my goal and transfer the charge to my Gempro 250 and trickle up to goal with an Omega trickler.
Someday I would like to get a high end precision scale, but would still use the Charge Master for the initial throw.
I haven't used the Lyman gen 6 but have not heard anything negative. one of the most important features to look for in an electronic powder dispenser is ease of cleaning/emptying/changing powder.
Good luck!

I know this is an old thread but I ran across a guy from Canada that makes a powder trickler that interfaces with a A&D FX-120I scale and the Sartorius/Entris scale. He sells the FX electronics and trickler for $199 (not sure if US$ or Can$) and the Sartorius version for $249 so if you have one of those nice scales, this would get you auto trickling to the single Kernel of powder (depending on powder).

There is also a long thread on the device at http://forum.accurateshooter.com/threads/turn-your-fx-120i-into-a-prometheus.3897203/This set up really appeals to me since my Gempro 250 wanders a bit.
I will make a new post on this later.
Happy shooting all.
