I just purchased a brand new Tikka T3 Lite Adjustable in 260 Remington
I ordered to MT Rail and am awaiting it arrival
Decided to work ahead alittle and put the gun in the vice to remove the small screws where the rail will go and none of them will come out and appear to be stripped
what a bunch of crap
How do you all remove these screws?J replied 9 years, 7 months ago 4 Members · 5 Replies -

Take a deep breath and cal down…………
Then, if they are all already stripped, take the bolt out and using a small punch (or a nail) carefully punch them out into the action raceway (be very careful not to damage any of the threads on the action). They are plastic and will come out easily. Finally, make sure you clean out the threads to get any bits out and then fit your picatinny rail. They are just there to stop rain and dirt getting into the action for those who use Optilock or similar bases and rings instead of a rail. So, you see, the rifles are not a “piece of crap” at all.

I was freakin out I have never seen anything like that
and could not imagine why they would have put loc-tight on those screws.
who would have thought to use a frickin punch…especially with screwdriver slots in them
things are much better now they came out nice. -
LOL…you are not the first person to get excited over the plastic insert screws!
J…just gave you good instructions. They do remove quite easily. -
I was fortunate to have read something somewhere to clue me in on those screws. I would have been pretty worked up if I didn't know what I was dealing with.
