I'm still working on breaking the barrel in. One session was fire one shot and clean for the first ten shots. On the second session I fired three shots and cleaned the barrel, and did this three times. The next time out it will be fire five shots and clean for two or three times. I'll pay more attention to the stock during my next session. It might not be until the following weekend since I plan to go to a pistol match this coming weekend.

Welcome to the forum Andy! I don't have a good answer to your question, but I was wondering what you were going to use a Super Varmint in 30-06 for? I just recently bought a Varmint in 22-250. Still in the process of breaking in the barrel. – Todd

Very nice hooter65! If you get some time, would you mind writing up a description of your prone position and technique for us?

What size groups were you getting with your stock factory set up?

Thanks for the info Jason! I might be doing some scope switching around on my rifles to make use of a 42mm objective which might fit with the Tikka standard rings. I'll let you know if I decide to order some. – Todd

Thanks for the info Jason. I may take a different approach. Using a scope with a smaller Objective.
Can you tell me how much a pair of medium height Optilock rings are?
Thanks, Todd

Welcome to the forum! I'm pretty new myself.
What sort of rules do you have to abide by to own rifles in the UK these days?

I've got a T3 Varmint in 22-250 on layaway. I'm hoping to sell a rifle to help get it paid for and start playing with it.

Do I need to be concerned that the barrel might not be free floated properly? Or that the trigger has creep? I sure liked how smooth the bolt felt!
