I've got a varmint model in 22-250 and love it.  If you're going to be doing long range shooting, the heavier bullet out of the 22-250 will drift less in the wind.

The first thing I would do is pull off the scope, rings and base and reinstall these.  If that doesn't make a difference I would pull the stock off and reseat the recoil lug and reinstall the stock with proper torqueing.

I've been using a bipod up front and beanbag in back.  When shooting off of a bench I place a couple sand bags in front of the bipod so that I can “load” the bipod.

I would go with the 260 Rem.  The case fits the .308 bolt face and the .308 mags can be used.

If you know of someone who's a good shot have them try it.

If you want to consider possible things you may be doing:

    –  how's your natural point of aim?  If you get into position with the crosshair on the target, and then close your eyes and go through two breathing cycles and open your eyes, is the crosshair in the same place?

    –  is the first pad of your finger flat on the face of the trigger and pulling straight back?

    –  is the parallax adjustment on the scope correct?

    –  are you pushing against the stock with your cheek/face?

Oh, man, that's a bummer that you have to send it back.  Do you have something else to shoot while it's gone?

The following is just my opinion …..

That seems like a lot of magnification on the low end.  If you needed to deal with varmints within about 100 yds, it might be tough to find the target in the scope.

If you can tune your load to work with the different barrel harmonics you should be good to go.

Sounds nice!  Let us know how it shoots when you get a chance.  Maybe even post a pic?  Did you keep the aluminum recoil lug, or use a steel one with the new stock?

It's probably a pretty okay scope.  Looks like they run around $250.  I would use it and see if there's anything you don't like about it.

Very nice looking shooters you have there!

Would you mind sharing your 22-250 load with me?

The way I understand barrel break in is to smooth out the machining marks created when chambering the barrel.  I'll second “what do you have to loose” thought.

Are you able to have someone else shoot it?

The T3's are suppose to be able to group to within 1moa – with the right ammo.
