Muzzle Break Accuracy
Posted by Fightntxag01 on January 22, 2015 at 4:10 pmDoes anyone have reports of the effect of a muzzle break on accuracy? I have the Tikka TAC in 308 and love it. Recoil is a non issue for me. I can shoot it 200 times a day and no big deal. But I was thinking more for limiting recoil some to stay on target faster. Thoughts?

If you can tune your load to work with the different barrel harmonics you should be good to go.

I put a muzzle brake on my CTR in .260 and if anything accuracy was improved. I have only tried it on one load however but have shot a .35″ 5 shot group with it. I also suspected that I might need to re-tune my load but that was not the case. You can see photos of the brake and the group in the general discussion section in a thread called “hunter .243 recoil”. I put the brake on to increase the ability to see impacts after the shot since the recoil was already pretty mild.
