I removed the spring from the magazine release and stretched it a little. So far that has worked but I have only fired about 20 rounds so far. I also found a spring assortment at Brownell&#039;s and have that on order. Hopefully there will be a spring in the kit that will work for me.<br />OB</p>

I would recommend that you consider that. If you have a reticle that you can use for windage it will only be accurate at a specific magnification if you go with 2nd focal plane. The fixed power scopes are only $299. I have the 10X, 12X and 3-15. All three work great. the 3-15 is $699. I noticed when I put my brake on that the threads are pressed in and not cut so at first the brake was stopping on the thicker shank rather than on the shoulder like I wanted. What bullet are you using? I would be interested in what kind of velocities you get with RL17 and the 20&#8243; barrel in the CTR. I also have the CTR in .260. I have only tried it on one load however but have shot a .35&#8243; 5 shot group with it. I also suspected that I might need to re-tune my load but that was not the case. Recoil is dramatically reduced. I know it is somewhat subjective but the recoil on the bags is much more manageable than my 6.5&#215;47 Lapua that weighs 13.5 lbs. POI was about 1.5 moa higher and 0.5 moa left of the same load without the brake. Amazing rifle! The only load work up I have done was 140g Nosler Custom Competitions with IMR4350. I worked up using the book loads in the Nosler #7 manual and found best accuracy at 40.8 grains (Lapua brass). I have already gotten a couple of 5 shot 1/2 groups with this load. I have shot about 100 rounds through it so far, all from the bench working up loads and the recoil is very mild. Also, since the muzzle is threaded, it will be straightforward to put a brake on it. I have a brake on order since my goal is to have light enough recoil to see impacts shooting prone from a bipod. Compared to the single stack AI magazines I have on two other rifles, I like these much better. My rifle is in .260 and I seated the 140 grain bullets to 2.85&#8243; as a first attempt and they feed great.
