Tikka T3 CTR .308 Magazine Problems…Please Help!
Hello all,
I recently broke-in my new CTR, everything went just fine, temperature outside was 58F/14C. However, when I went shooting yesterday in 27F/-3C temperature, my 10-round magazine kept unseating itself from the magazine release every time I fired. The mag didnt fall completely out of the mag well, but it was unseated to where I had to push it back to hear a “click” in order for me to reload. Very annoying!
Should I blame only the cold or something else? Or should I attempt to increase the spring in the mag release or just replace the spring all together?
I've heard this is a common problem among Tikkas.

I have had the same problem with my CTR. I removed the spring from the magazine release and stretched it a little. So far that has worked but I have only fired about 20 rounds so far. I also found a spring assortment at Brownell's and have that on order. Hopefully there will be a spring in the kit that will work for me.

Copied from another thread…the spring pressure is not the issue, the release catch and mag slot is at a terrible angle from the factory, does not allow a good seating position for the release in the mag…this fix works:
