T3 Varmint 223 McM Edge
I'm very impressed with the T3 Varmint 223 1 in 10″ twist. This project started because I ordered a McM Sako Hunter Edge stock for my 6.5×55 T3 Lite. I waited 9 months and when I received it, the barrel channel was inletted for a Varmint barrel. I debated sending it back but decided to get a T3 Varmint in 223 instead. The rifle has the new Tikka Performance UL receiver length rail, TPS rings, and Weaver Classic V 4-16×42 AO with .223 ballistic reticle and mountain tactical shroud. Tactical bolt handle is on the way.
I'm breaking in the barrel with factory ammo in 50-55gr's. I've tried 4 different flavors and all have shot 1/4″ to 3/4″ 5 shot groups at 100yds. The pics below are my best and worst 5 shot groups so far with a variety of ammo. Pretty impresssive, esp considering these are the 1st 25 rounds to go through this barrel. I stretched it out to 300yds today and was ringing a 6″ steel plate with no problem.
It's funny how things work out sometimes.
