I have no experience with it….but I am interested in your results.  Your solutions seems way cheaper than a new stock or buying a Tac1.  I would be nervous performing this rifle stock surgery though.  Good luck. 

I have 3 range sessions with this T3x CTR in 6.5 creedmoor with a total of about 120 rounds through the rifle.  My report so far is i am very impressed….box ammo shoots great but the reloads are just fantastic.

Thanks.  I will have to do some research, I think you are right it is very hard to find after market products for the sako, like magazines.  All Tikka shooters have this site for needed advice and upgrades at a good price. 

Looks like the original question was about a T3 3006 not shooting well.

After doing all the simple stuff like making things tight and ensuring it is not the scope, cleaning the barrel then re-fouling some….I would then consider a bedding job for the rifle. Tikka rifles don't normally require bedding but of the 3 I have one needed a bedding job.… Read more

My T3x 30-06 seems to stabilize the Hornady 178g ELD-x very well.  The 100 yard accuracy is sub-MOA with box ammo (Precision Hunter).

Great day at the range today. Shot the new T3x 30-06 again testing some other ammunition. Hornady precision hunter 178g ELDX and 150g Fed Fusion again.

I agree with all the advice on this thread, any high quality premium bullet should be fine in the 150-180 range.  The most important aspect of hunting elk with a 308 win is knowing the limitations of the ammunition. You could try the Bell and Carlson T3 stock for about $280….some don't like it compared to Manners or McMillian but the stock is half the price or even less.  I didn't get the best results from this stock until I bedded the rifle.  Now the gun is truly half-MOA at 100, 200, and 300 yards.

Not a T3 but my Rem 700 1-10 twist barrel loves RL 23 71g with the 200g ELD-X bullet in the sig brass with either a Fed 215 primer or a CCI 250 primer.  .75 inches at 100 yards.  Good luck.  This load may not work in your rifle nor will it be a safe load.  I did pluck it from the Hornady X book though.

Thanks for all the tips!  I did not bed the rifle, I chose to use the torque method. I started at 40 inch pounds on the front screw and 30 in lb on the rear. Thanks for the tip, I will use the advice and go up from the 45 inch lb front and rear. I will go to 45 front and 50 rear and repeat up to 60 to see if I see any changes.

Thanks for the thoughts. Less than 300 rounds.  I am going to try the torque specs again, I was at 45 front and 45 rear last time at the range. I am going to try 35 front and 20 rear and fire 3 rounds let cool, torque 5 more pounds on rear, and repeat until I see the groups change.

All of these I have tried in the last month or so and had only marginal performance…(2inch groups at 100 yards)

After reading lots of posts on the 25-06 it seems like the T3 barrels like the 100gr bullet weights more.  Can anyone confirm this thought? 

Range time today did not go as expected.  The T3 25-06 with Rem 100grain and Hornady 117 ammo did not produce the desired MOA or better results.  The gun shot ok (2 inch) and better than it has in the last few outings but still not the 1/2 MOA it produced the first 100 rounds.  Next step will be to reload and see if fine tuning a load for this wi… Read more

Not to sound stupid, have you considered getting a different lightweight synthetic stock?  It seems to me you could save quite a bit of weight with a stock swap.  Good luck on your hunt.  Hope you get a big one.

I ordered a Bell and Carlson from Stockys that seems pretty nice.  At least it looks good.  Whether it shoots good remains to be seen.  Not enough time at the range yet.  I will post some picture soon.  Price was fair and shipping was free.

Thanks for the intel.  I just ordered some DNZ mounts.  I think you are right the Warne rings are good just not inherently gripping as much as the DNZ design.  Thanks for the loading thoughts.  How do the lighter bullets work on deer?  Also how did you bed your Tikka? 

Just a quick update…I put the Warne rings for Tikka's on the 25-06 and have seen a dramatic improvement in the accuracy.  It is now printing at 1 MOA, not quite as good as when I first purchased the rifle but better than a week ago with the Tikka rings.  I am going to try some reloading next or try some different rings.  Thanks for all the help… Read more

Sorry I don't have any real suggestions for the pouch.  You could try cabelas or look at something made by blackhawk.  You could also try making a custom Kydex mag holder and put a belt loop on it.  This is just some random thoughts.
