Modifying stock for new sling mount
Hello,
New to the forum! I'm a happy T3x CTR owner! There are a few kinks I'd like to work out with the gun (still working on my hunting load recipe), but overall, I really love it.
One of those things I'd like to improve is the sling mounting solution. The rear sling stud hits my left hand during recoil (using a bipod), and I'm thinking I could put it high on the left side of the stock instead (kind of like the WW2 Mauser K98k).
Is there a good way to do this? Any prior experience before I go to town with the dremel and a jar of chemical metal? I'm thinking That I could reuse the old stud if I drill a hole in the side of the stock and put a nut and washer on the inside, and then cover it up in some chemical metal putty to make it rigid.
