Its a TRG stock that I made new chassis for.
I did also loads of work to cut the weight down and changed out many of the steel parts to alu and got away with approx 1 lbs totally.

6,5×55 Ackley improved.
130 Gr. Norma VLD bullets at slow 3000 fps.
Barrel is factory, standard, Only thing I have done to it is rechamber it for ackley improved.

Action is not bedded, it's just against the aluchassis.

T3 is much more appealing.
Accuracy on T3 is at least not less good than the older models!
The scoperail is far better on the T3 as it's not demilled as on all other tikka models.
The availbility of factory spare parts for T3 is good, and for all discontinued models a constant trouble.

The stock has the feel of a TRG but the weight is low as a hunting rifle.
Its definitely one of the most interesting factoryrifles ever and the accuracy is outstanding.
For those of you into long range I would give Alex at Europtic a call and rip one of the 6,5×55 of his hands before anyone else do it……

I would never ever consider a picatinny on a T3.
I see the integrated rail as one of the key factors why to choose T3, as it gives maximum stability to the mount.
With a rail, you are downgrading you'r T3 to Rem 700 level……

The Roedale system is almost a “No Gunsmith required” bottom metal and is still limited to SA. 

Not to mention it is pretty expensive to get here in the US!

Yes ot comes out as one unit, but that is because the triggerguard is attached to the triggerhousing with two pins.
Remove pins and triggerguard and it Will fit rigth in to the T3.
I have done it for test with My trg42 trigger.

Looks really great, and the caliberchoise is very nice to.
You reach the same velocity as I do in My 24″ barreled 6,5x55AI.
I can go higher but it effects the brass and barrellife to much.

I do fully agree on the recoillug, it works great as it is and there is no reason to install à 700 type.

Same mount fits, same Accuracy(freaking good!) same triggerinlet, so you can move one triggersystem to the other gun and a similar heavy sturdy action( apart from length and no of lugs)

As I see it it's not possible to use long AICS mags in Tikka as they are far to long.
On the other hand they are only single stack and a staggered long mag would be much more interesteing.

Almost all competetive shooters shoot with the thum on the right side or just up.
So the idea behind thumbhole is in my opinion not very good at all, it's just hoax.

Yes, its actually our TRG mounts, that also works or T3.
Only negative side is that the ejectionport have to be lowered by 1/10″ as it wrongly placed.
All our mounts comes with integrated level, the mounts have a 7mm level, and the rings a 5mm level.

The individual rings are only for picatinny and not for the Tikka rail.
but they work of course fine if you put a picatinny there.

The rings are 32mm/1,25″mm long.

I would however have choosed a direct mount instead.
Sturdyer, better, less screws, bigger vial…….

I think this is crucial for making the T3 more popular, seems like the number of products availbe for a model is a very important part for many new users.

What do you intend to make?
Bottommetal? will you make bottommetal with long mags?

I have a varmint that is rechambered to 6,5×55 AI and it's shooting a 130 Norma VLD at 3000 fps.
Making a trajectory of 8,5 mils out to 1000 meters, same as for my TRG.338…….

I am using the 6,5×55 AI with Norma 130 grains VLD, and there is certainly spare room for a number of millimeters more.
So the Bergers could without any problems be used.
My 6,5 and my TRG338 have the same ballistics out to 1000 meters and that is 8,5mils.

I make 34mm mounts that is 13mil/44,4 moa.
And 30 and mm mounts that is 7mils/24 moa for direct mounting to the tikka without picatinny.

Barrels are not a problem, not rebarreling either.

But I got a feeling that Tikka/sako barrels last much longer than normal US made barrels.
For example a TRG .338 Barrel have a repuation to last 4000-5000 rounds.
That is pretty far from where the majority of aftermarket barrels are.

It's really annoying when the barrellife of the T3 comes to an end.
Here is one part where I really DISKLIKES Tikka/Sako.
The gun has to be sent back to Finland to get a new barrel installed, and that costs HUGE amount.

Replacement barrels should be sold by the importer!

I have no issues with the orignal mags.
My main concern is that I wanna have bigger capacity and preferable staggered mags.
7075 would probably work fine.

I am primaraly looking for a centerfeed 10 rds mag that is staggered.
But a single stack is far better than the current alternative……
So I am interested.

You can use a TRG trigger, not the cheapest or best solution, but it would certainly work.

No problems so far.
All people I know with T3 are actually quite fond of the reliability and I havent heard about any issues, so maybe you just should claim warranty or get another mag.

As there is no tactical mags yet for T3, I am waiting until Alutek are ready with theirs.

I would NEVER put a picatinny rail on a gun that already have a perfect rail.
Sandvich solution without any reason in my opinion.
The integrated rail on the T3 was one of the big reasons for me to get a T3.

The quality on the Alutek stuff is pretty impressive, so I guess there is a good reason for the price differance.
I would certianly use their bottommetal if there was any with staggered 10 rds mag for 6,5.
