Thoughts on the 6.5×55
Posted by m_freeman on August 23, 2011 at 12:22 amI am lusting for the Tikka T3 lite in 6.5×55. What are your experiences? Longest range kill, tightest group, favorite load recipe?

Dont have alot of specifics on load, groups (accept clover leaf @100yrds) and factory Hornady's. But last year and first season for my Tikka T3 hunter 6.5 Swede was 220'ish yrds and 2 shots and 2 does drt w/140gr SST. One in the boiler maker and one a little high and both were pass threws. Good luck if your looking for a new one because I heard that they are not importing to the states anymore so, whats here is here.

Exceptionally satisfied.
I have a varmint that is rechambered to 6,5×55 AI and it's shooting a 130 Norma VLD at 3000 fps.
Making a trajectory of 8,5 mils out to 1000 meters, same as for my TRG.338…….Håkan

Fantastic caliber, great rifle. Got a T3 lite. I shoot 1,5″ groups @ 200m without problems. My favourite bullett is Scenar 123 and Nosler 120 ballistic tip. I hunt everything from geese, foxes up to deer. I had no hight hopes when I got this rifle but now its my favourite. My others are Sako 243 and 308. I always grab the 6,5 when I go out.
