Started life as a 6.5×55 then she progressed to a 6.5×284
New stock plus HSS bolt Handle and shroud. Needs a new barrel now but still shoots under a inch.

It's really annoying when the barrellife of the T3 comes to an end.
Here is one part where I really DISKLIKES Tikka/Sako.
The gun has to be sent back to Finland to get a new barrel installed, and that costs HUGE amount.Replacement barrels should be sold by the importer!
As the T3 generally shoots so extremely well, it feels wrong to install another barrel, when the T3 barrel just is perfect.

I've got a couple of good GunSmiths to choose from so to re-barrel anything is never a big problem.
I'm going to get it in 6.5×284 again but with a really short throat so I can shoot the lighter prodigy's.
Hornady do a 95gn V-Max that i've had my eye on for a while. -
Barrels are not a problem, not rebarreling either.
But I got a feeling that Tikka/sako barrels last much longer than normal US made barrels.
For example a TRG .338 Barrel have a repuation to last 4000-5000 rounds.
That is pretty far from where the majority of aftermarket barrels are.I have rebarreled many guns myself as I have been a full time gunsmith for a number of years.
And the combination of great accuracy and long life makes me to want to have Tikka barrel again.Håkan

They do shoot like nothing else around and my 22/250 has out lasted anything I've had in the past.
I send it back like you say but there is so much paperwork and hassles to get your guns out of Australia let alone get them back in.
It ends up more trouble than its worth. -
Agreed, so I hope many shooters starts to question this so company will change their policy.
