Sportsman's Warehouse has a few kicking around in their “Sportsmans Exclusive” super lite model with the fluted barrel, and I've seen them at Scheel's in a compact/youth length. You can also (on very rare occasions) find the heavy barreled version at gun shops/shows, too. Be advised, though- if you find one, do NOT let anyone know about it (especially me), because they will buy it out from under you (especially me). Good luck!

I might be interested in trading you the bolt from my 300WSM…

Assuming you have an 8″ twist barrel…
75 grain amax's are twitchy. They like to be kissing the lands in my experience. I was getting roughly moa with them when I was jumping them, but it dropped down to .45 moa when I ran them out to the lands. The 80.5 grain Bergers are much more forgiving.

We've played around with this a bit. It's not terribly difficult, but be careful. If you allow the trigger adjustment screw to come out too much, you can lose the spring & plunger (they're hard to find once they fly). I've taken the trigger on my latest 223ai down to about 1.5# without seeing any slam fires or drop fires.

I'm sorry to say that we're not likely to be doing another group buy anytime soon. We're focusing our efforts on catching up to backorders on our core products now. As soon as we get suitable inventory numbers on rails, lugs, & shrouds (being redesigned at the moment), we'll launch the new stuff we've hinted at recently.

This sounds like a great excuse to accelerate the destruction of my 300 WSM barrel! The faster I can fry this barrel, the faster I can get it rebarreled to 7SAUM.

Once we get caught up to our production schedule I'll pick up some & post some load development data…

    but, but, but , when I break a Harris, i don't cry…

I've always wanted an LRA, or Sinclair, or an Elite, but I break my stuff too often, and I would cry.

I finally got my head cleared out enough to post a few comments…

My experience with 75 amax's has shown them to be very sensitive to seating depth (they're VLD's if you ask me). If I give them a 20 thou jump, they group .86 moa. If I kiss the lands (2.494″ in mine), they group .45 moa.

Jason has found the 80.5 Bergers to be much more forgiving.

Jason listed the twist rates on our site with the Tikka rifles that we can get. I also know where  a guy can get his hands on an 8″ twist 223….

    🙂

Once Jason is back at 100%, we'll be installing & learning how to run the new CNC. We'll have a lot of catching up to do by then, but when we do catch up, I promise to add more options for the kits.
