I tried googlin' the book and author but couldn't find anyone selling it. A few reviews but nothing to point a direction where one can get it.

My only concern is the 10 round capacity. I believe (and I may be wrong) that in Canada, we're limited to 5 rounds in a centre fire rifle. I guess it could be pinned if needed.  😉

The ability to have a longer col would be nice, so long as the end user knows that to use the long action length mag they would need to install the long action bolt stop.
Myself, I plan on just modifying mine with some “selective” filing.

One quick question that I'm sure was asked and answered by you, will these fit factory Tikka T3 rifles?

Federal brass works well for me. Tried the Winchester, found it too hard and brittle.

Quite honestly, Loading a 300WSM longer than the magazine will allow is… well… not terribly necessary. Not available in the T3 lite version at all.

That's a tough one. I find, that when recoil is bothering me, I really suck the rifle in tight to my shoulder and hold it as tight as possible.

The standard Tikka recoil pad is worthless. You could change that to a LimbSaver, and consider a muzzle brake. But definiately, shoot with a firm grip, and 2 hands.

Not much to be said that hasn't been said. Myself, I own a T3 HB varmint in the 300 WSM cal. and love it. My only complaint is the pounding I get shooting the thing (went out this weekend and pumped 60 rounds down the tube)… but that's a caliber issue and not the firearm.  ::)

Used Tikkas in 300WSM are a dime a dozen, as nobody likes the recoil in such a light rifle. You should be able to pick up a donor cheap, and on just about any hunting forum.

I dunno bout that… I kinda like mine in 300WSM. Yeah, it kicks… but nothing terrible. Might be because mines a varmint though.

OK, after much searching, I thought I had it licked… I “thought” it was a “TP25” (Torx Plus). I ordered one from the local Mac Tools distributor and found it wouldn't fit! A dial vernier caliper is what I was recommending. I only say that they are better through experience. Where I reside, the local vehicle authority requires us to use digital verniers for vehicle inspections ( i know… cars and not guns)… but through much use and differing readings, I found the repeat-ability of the digital to be less than that… Read more

Proper name for it would be a “Vernier Caliper”. You can get them at almost any place that sells reloading supplies/equipment or a good machine shop supply store.
On this note, spend the money and buy a good one. Non digital… metal in construction and with an easy to read dial. Don't worry, it's money well spent as it's a lifetime purchase.

Yup… a tumbler isn't really needed unless you like things to sparkle. A good primer pocket cleaning tool, a fine scotch brite pad (to clean the outside of the necks) and a wire barrel cleaning brush of the appropriate diameter (for inside the necks) is all that's really needed for cleaning as far as I'm concerned.

I agree on the pricing being an issue, It is a bit steep. Though here in Canada, getting a barrel is quite an ordeal. It's easier to just buy one than to buy a rifle for an action and then trick it out. If you feel like doing the leg work and paper work, your T3 HB is available in Canada in .204, 22-250, .308, 7mm rem mag, 300 mag, 300 wsm and .223.
I'm not sure why they are available in Canada and not the US… Doesn't make any sense.

Oh, it's a keeper. Was out this weekend finalizing sighting it in at 200 yds. Thing shoots sub 1″ using berger 185 grn's and 59.1 grns of H4350. I'm really impressed! ;D
