I have shoot a T3 light in .308 and can hit 5″ steel circle plates with it at 700 yards with no problem using FGMM 175gr ammo.

Based on the experience I've had with the T3 Varmint I have, I would go with the Tikka Varmint. The 24″ barrel should be fine out to 600 yds.

The scout is plenty for 600 yards. For 1000 yards, a 24″ barrel would be better.

24″ T3 Varmint will get you where you want to be. 😉
