Had one in .243 win. Couldn't hit anything with it. Got rid of it.

because the heavier bullets I've been able to shoot accurately are the 69 gr SMK. I would love to shoot the 75/77 grainers.

I would trade you my Tikka Lite 1:10 for a 1:8 any day.

My Tikka Lite .243 will not shoot the 100 gr bullets accurately, but its a laser with the Sierra 85 gr HPBT.

I have shot a lot of the load below with consistent results.
–Sierra  HPBT (MATCH) 1380  69 GR
–BENCHMARK 23.2 GR
–COL: 2.260
–WOLF SR primers
–AVG GROUP SIZE: = .548
If you can also try the Sierra 65 GR GK. Even more accurate for me.

I own 3 Tikkas and have free floated the barrels in all of them, which did indeed improve grouping and helped with getting less fliers.

from what I've heard: IMR 4350 is made in Canada and H4350 in Australia.
Definately NOT the same powder.

I was burned before with Beretta's listed twist rates. I ordered a .223 from Bud's expecting a 1:8 and received a 1:10. Almost returned it, but since I also had another Tikka in .243 that shot great I decided to test it. Shoots Sierras 65 GK and 69 MK under 1/2″ at 100 yards. But I really wanted to shoot the 75/77s!

My Tikka 1:10 will shoot the Sierras 65 GK & 69 MK under .5″ Will not shoot the Hornady 68 gr Match which are longer. Have not tried the 75 grainers.

Shoot a few rounds at the shorter COL and compare to the length you want to make sure it is really less accurate

Learn the OCW method and forget about everything else.

Brakes have their place. I would use them if i had my own private range. i suspect if public ranges made people using brakes sit in a special section, you'd see a lot less shooters using them. I was taught since childhood to be considerate of others, that's all.

Typical answer from the me,me,me generation. I “get on with it” at the range no problem. The problem is the lack of consideration with your neighbors. Why would anybody need a brake on a p—y .223?

I hate muzzle brakes. I've had the same experience as you at the range and it takes all the pleasure out of shooting. can't handle the recoil? get a smaller caliber!

I've been thinking about getting a CTR in .260 rem. But magazines at over $200! Wow!
