as yukonal said, I recommend you have a serious talk with the company that sold me the gun. if I were you I would return the gun and demand a full refund of every dollar I spent (shipping, FFL, and tax).

yes, it is possible to clean too much. depending on how your cleaning the rifle it can do damage to your crown or simply unnecessary ware on the rifle.

I like bore snakes as they are pretty gentle on the barrel and have no hard surface to drag against the crown. but a rod can work if your using a guide, you just have to be careful.

ive been doing some more looking around and thinking. i came to the conclusion that the vortex is too heavy. ive found a number of other scopes such as the leupold 2.5-8×36 which only weighs around 11 oz.

yea, ive been in contact with eurooptic.com about ordering a rifle with a set trigger. they told me they could do it but it would have to be a bulk order and they don't think they would sell well enough.

this sucks, I normally shoot with muzzleloaders and set triggers are a huge advantage!

im sure the tikka lite would be more durable but i dont like plastic stocks on my rifles. the other rifle im considering is a CZ 550 FS in 6.5×55. its a little heavier and has a shorter barrel. the action on the 550 is a real beefy mauser action and the accuracy is reported to be good but not as good as the T3.

just a thought, are you using the factory scope rings? just reading around other posts on this forum have led me to believe the factory rings are garbage.

I don't have a Tikka yet but I have many other rifles and ive used all kinds of cleaning rods and bore  snakes. if you use a steel cleaning rod that's fine but make sure you use a brass bore guide. plastic rods will work as well and some claim you don't need a bore guide but im not sure what the plastic will do rubbing on the crown all the time.… Read more
