Clubs near me let anybody shoot any comp with any rifle , you will not get placed if your rifles out of spec but you can see where you would have come in the standings , you just have to help when your not shooting , like taking your turn in the buts etc

Hi welcome great caliber (get the longer barrel)I'd just go with the extra moa of 20 in ether the rings or the rail not both

It depends on how accurate you want to be .3 moa and better is possible with home loads , so for me the added accuracy by the work would be worth the outlay , if you say looking at long range bench rest then I would just to rule out the action / barrel if there's a bad shot , but that's taking it to the next level

You need to use all the same make of brass , each case manufacturer has different volume within the case , so pressure for a given load will be different , so poi will be all over the place , 5.56 brass is way thicker than .223 has it is a higher pressure load ,

I'm guess you are using old 5.56 brass ? , that's where you are going wrong , use quality brass , I use sako brass , case prep is where good grouping starts , I'm getting .3 Moa , sako brass Viht 133 Cci Br primers and Berger 52 gr target , all cases are annealed , full length sized , and trimmed to length , cleaned in a ultrasonic bath then polished

More than likely it will not shoot has it should , my experienced guess is it will shoot the first cold bore shot fine and the second one will be good but the next will be off , because of the contact pressure increasing with the hot barrel

Hi you need to take the stock of the action and remove the material on the stock that is in contact with the barrel it needs to float all the way to the action , it's a common problem
