T3x action blueprinting and truing
Posted by brentwinkey on November 21, 2017 at 6:43 pmI have a several t3's and 2 t3x's I am considering rebarreling my CTR eventually I am curious if the tikka actions need to be trued or benefit from doing a truing/blueprinting job to squeeze out the most of the barreled action. Thanks Brent

It depends on how accurate you want to be .3 moa and better is possible with home loads , so for me the added accuracy by the work would be worth the outlay , if you say looking at long range bench rest then I would just to rule out the action / barrel if there's a bad shot , but that's taking it to the next level

I shoot local prs matches so absolute precision is not key but the more precision the better since I'm not a world class shoot by any means. Just kind of asking to see if ppl have found the actions to be pretty true from the factory or need a little help…

They are as close to “trued” as you can get from a factory rifle action. Most guys won't blue print it if building off a Tikka action.
Unless you are changing to a custom lug style when rebarreling, there is no reason for it…threads are always perfect and bolt faces are always true. You don't hear negative stories about Tikka actions like you do about 700 actions…
