Thanks for the pictures.  I have done great with superformance and my reloads of 50 grain vmax, 37.5 gr of Varget and Federal Match primers.  Group 1/2″ to 5/8″ at 200 yards.  When I go back to the range I will take some pictures.

Thanks Ranger.  Last weekend I loaded some 50 gr vmax using varget.  I loaded 5 each of 35.5 gr., 36 gr. and 36.5 gr.  Now I have to get some time to get to the range.  What is the twist in your rifles?

That looks like a great load for you.  How does it shoot at 200 and 300 yards.  Do you ever hunt out that far.

I also misspoke.  The rifle has 1 in 14 twist.  I did some reading and some people are having some accuracy success with 60 gr bergers in their 1 in 14 twist barrels.  I bought some bergers and 60 gr vmax to try.  I posted some previous links to 22-250 reloading.  AccurateShooter.com is an informative site.

I said new bolt and I actually meant new bolt handle.  I installed the Hinterland bolt handle.  I like it and it is some improvement over the stock bolt handle but it does look cool and it is easy to operate.

Testing my picture posting skills

I have a Remington Model 7 , 300 Short Action Ultra Mag.  Competes with WSM.  The rifle has a 22 inch barrel and is my favorite hog gun.  I don't think it kicks any more than my .308 Remington Sendaro.

I was all bruised up but still standing! 

I thought it looked cool!.  The bolt really did not need replacing but I thought it would look nice on the new stock.

Thanks.  My rings are in the mail.  Looks like a next week project.  Oh well, it was 103 in the garage yesterday afternoon.

I hunt mainly 50 to 300 yards and I always clean out the copper.  I use Pro Shot copper solvent IV which does a great job.  Using it on my new barrel break in. 

On the predator masters website this morning I found this link.  I think I will also look at Varget 35.1 gr using 55 gr vmax.  This guy had excellent results.

No doubt that there were some interesting loads on that list.  I spoke with Gary at Hornady about load selection.  With the 1 in 14 twist he said that we are limited to the 55 gr. bullet.  He also said ( he thought) that Savage and Remington may have gone to 1 in 12 so a heavier bullet coult be used.  I did see several loads on the list that I wil… Read more

It looks like the super accurate groups were done with longer, heavier bullets in .223.  I have not see any data for longer bullets in the 22 250.  I am going to order my dies today.  Also I will speak with Jason to see if he has heard of a super accurate 22 250 load.  Since I varmint hunt do I really care about 5 shot groups when I usually get… Read more

Hi Sidewinder.  I can not wait to get my scope mounted correctly and finish my break in.  I am hoping for better results.  Is your gun the varmint? And what caliber.  What scope are you putting on it?  If you do not reload try Hornady Superformance.  They shoot great in my .223 Ar's and no my Tikka.
