New member in pursuit of accuracy
Hi to all,
I am professional deer culler in Scotland UK and use a Tikka T3 .270 win laminated stock with a S&B 3-12x 50 on Warne 30mm rings it has also been fitted with a Gunworks sound moderator.
This rifle is used everyday and is a very reliable and accurate set-up.
It is however rather a fussy eater and took a bit of load development to get shooting the way I wanted. Having tried several factory loads with fairly average results I have now settled with 130gr Nosler BTs with 53.6gn of H4350 seated out as far as the mag will allow and shooting 500 deer a year spend all my spare time reloading.
It shoots lovely clover leaf 5 shot groups at a 100 and 1 1/2 at 200.
This is plenty accurate enough for shooting deer but I would really like to push the rifle to its absolute max from an accuracy point of view and that's why I'm here! This looks like a great site and I look forward to discussing hints and tips on how to squeeze out that little bit extra out our trusty Tikkas.
Cheers
