Its a TRG stock that I made new chassis for.
I did also loads of work to cut the weight down and changed out many of the steel parts to alu and got away with approx 1 lbs totally.Håkan

6,5×55 Ackley improved.
130 Gr. Norma VLD bullets at slow 3000 fps.
Barrel is factory, standard, Only thing I have done to it is rechamber it for ackley improved.Action is not bedded, it's just against the aluchassis.

Here is a 100 meter five shot group shot from prone. The gun have shot well over 2000 rounds, probably 2500 rounds.
This group of five rounds was shot yesterday by a friend who never shoot rifles…..:)
I think Tikkas are remarkable, match accuracy, without blueprining or special barrels:)

T3 is much more appealing.
Accuracy on T3 is at least not less good than the older models!
The scoperail is far better on the T3 as it's not demilled as on all other tikka models.
The availbility of factory spare parts for T3 is good, and for all discontinued models a constant trouble.
The availibty of T3 aftermarket parts is really good and very poor for the others. So the question is really, why ever go after anything else than a T3?

The stock has the feel of a TRG but the weight is low as a hunting rifle.
Its definitely one of the most interesting factoryrifles ever and the accuracy is outstanding.
For those of you into long range I would give Alex at Europtic a call and rip one of the 6,5×55 of his hands before anyone else do it……Håkan

I would never ever consider a picatinny on a T3.
I see the integrated rail as one of the key factors why to choose T3, as it gives maximum stability to the mount.
With a rail, you are downgrading you'r T3 to Rem 700 level……But I would never consider switching scopes betwen rifles, I want at least one scope per rifle and I want to be sure that when i take the gun should it be sighted in.
I don't like the feeling of “was it last time on the .22-250 or the 308………..”However there is a number of really good 17 mm mounts to choose from so there is really no reason of making a sandwish solution out of your T3.

The Roedale system is almost a “No Gunsmith required” bottom metal and is still limited to SA.
Not to mention it is pretty expensive to get here in the US!
It is a very well made piece of equipment however.
If we end up with a long action solution machined as well as Roedale's, I will be a happy man and you guys will be happy Tikka Shooters!
Those are swedish Alutek.eu stuff.
As far as I have seen avileble for AICS mags and also original mags.
I seen them also working on à 10rds staggered mag for 06 length….
I am hoping a lot on that for My own T3-TRG bastard….Håkan

Yes ot comes out as one unit, but that is because the triggerguard is attached to the triggerhousing with two pins.
Remove pins and triggerguard and it Will fit rigth in to the T3.
I have done it for test with My trg42 trigger.Håkan

Hi
Looks really great, and the caliberchoise is very nice to.
You reach the same velocity as I do in My 24″ barreled 6,5x55AI.
I can go higher but it effects the brass and barrellife to much.I do fully agree on the recoillug, it works great as it is and there is no reason to install à 700 type.
I replaced mine with a TRG steel recoillug, and it works great.
Thinking abouth installing a TRG trigger in it as well so I can move the trigger longer rearwards.
Ain't triggerplacement a problem with the Whiskey chassis?Håkan

Hi
Please have a look in this thread;
https://tikkashooters.com/public_html/index.php/topic,78.0.htmlSame mount fits, same Accuracy(freaking good!) same triggerinlet, so you can move one triggersystem to the other gun and a similar heavy sturdy action( apart from length and no of lugs)

As I see it it's not possible to use long AICS mags in Tikka as they are far to long.
On the other hand they are only single stack and a staggered long mag would be much more interesteing.Håkan

Almost all competetive shooters shoot with the thum on the right side or just up.
So the idea behind thumbhole is in my opinion not very good at all, it's just hoax. What i feel is extremely important though is
1. Buttplate height (usally its to low, on all montecarlo stocks its far to low as it's lowered 1-2″ from where it should be.
2. Stocklenght (different shooting positions, diffrerent clothing calls for different stocklength, sadly here is no civlian good solution for this)
3. Cheekpiece height is often far to low.For a General hunting gun and a gun used for driven game I like a pistolgrip that is very slope, 45 degrees is great.
For a long range snipergun where prone is the most used posisiton a vertical grip is great. So ideally a stock should have a mechanical device for adjusting LOP, buttplate height and cheekpiece height.
This device should ideally be possible to manipulate without the use of tools and preferably with one hand.Håkan

Yes, its actually our TRG mounts, that also works or T3.
Only negative side is that the ejectionport have to be lowered by 1/10″ as it wrongly placed.
All our mounts comes with integrated level, the mounts have a 7mm level, and the rings a 5mm level. Please give me your email and I email over catalogs and manuals so you can read and judge yourself.

The individual rings are only for picatinny and not for the Tikka rail.
but they work of course fine if you put a picatinny there. The rings are 32mm/1,25″mm long.
I would however have choosed a direct mount instead.
Sturdyer, better, less screws, bigger vial…….In the Remington world people pay loads of extra money to get a Surgeon with integrated rail, in the Tikka world you are all competing in the picatinny race and seems to belive that the one who have the coolest picatinnyrail wins…..

They make it in 6,5×55 also, but as usual it's probably not imported to US that way.

Great Jason.
I think this is crucial for making the T3 more popular, seems like the number of products availbe for a model is a very important part for many new users. What do you intend to make?
Bottommetal? will you make bottommetal with long mags?Håkan
