I'll give you an alternative break in process. A little JB bore paste on a patch for a few swipes to condition the bore (fine polish). Clean the bore with conventional solvent when dirty.
My Tikka barrel was very slick right out of the box. Settled in after 6-8 shots and has been great since.Just remember to use a fired case in the chamber as a “plug” while you apply a thin layer of JB from the muzzle so you won´t get the JB paste in the chamber.

You must lap even tier one rings, the polymer inserts are the only exception
Then Sako Optilock´s is a viable option as well.
That said i go with Spuhr or Seekins on my rifles. Spuhr is pricey stuff but the quality is second to none – and the owner of the Company lives just 15 min Car ride from our palatial “Casa de Ville” 🙂 🙂 -
I´m not the biggest fan of “Tacticool” rifles either. I´d , as said , just buy a Varmint and bed it into a GRS Bolthorn or Another good chassie. And that would give me a heavier barrel since the A1 has a “medium heavy” slapped on it. That would be at least as “T-cool” as the A1 and with less Money too ..

It should be fairly easy within EU. They cost 2500 € though and while not bad i´d rather buy a Varmint/TAC model, drop kick the oem stock and bed the bugger in a ie GRS Bolthorn. -

Done some break-in and now the bugger is about as broken in it ever will. Used factory loaded Norma Golden Target 130gr for the procedure and although somewhat light bullet for this gun it groups at under 25mm /1″ at 200 meters already. Looks good !
I'll go over to hand loaded Lapua Scenar L in 136 & 139 gr and start testing. -
I know we can get the 6.5×55 but I was hoping to find the one that came with the varmint barrel so I don't have to put a new barrel on it. This is more of a target rifle so I want the heavier barrel.
The 6.5 “Swede” is a marvellous target caliber. And good enough for pretty big game too.
The problem is that most Americans associate the cal with old Krag Jörgensen rifles that don´t stand up enough pressure to get the long (for its diam) bullet upto the proper speed.
Well – the modern rifles chambered to that caliber do that, easily, and due its sovereign ballistics the cal is widely used in Scandinavia (and Northern Europé) for LR shooting competitions. -
You guys should take a long and good look at the Delta brand scopes. Made in Japan by Light Optical Works and , by FAR, the most priceworthy optics you can find. Minox has nothing on them and they cost less than Minox.
Idk if these are available in the good ol´US of A though .. -

69gr (in my case Lapua Scenar L OTM) shoots like a laser, as does the GGG 69gr ammo as well. I use 77-80gr (Lapua Scenar L or Berger VLD) at longer distances (exceeding 300m) but if if it´s calm the 69gr goes a long way.
SMK 77gr (Norma factory loadaed Match ammo in this case) does very well too. I need to try some SMK´s in a Lapua and Norma brass. -
Not frozen but Malmoe (a City in Sweden) where the range is located is by the Sea and it´s Always windy as hell. That day it was around 4-5 degrees centigrade (don´t know what that adds to in your weird Fahrenheit-based system ;D ) and the chilly winds didn´t make it any better.
I just made the 10 first shots that day (cleaning between every shot,of course) Before i froze my nuts of and called it quits. I use mildly loaded Norma Recruit ammo (100gr bullet) for break-in and will go over to handloaded stuff after.
My both T3´s are identical: Super Varmint (1x .223 & 1x 6.5×55) with 600mm barrel, bedded GRS Berserk stock and factory set-trigger. Sweet rifles ! -
Over here they show up every once in a while. Over there ? I don`t know.

Good shooting. And once again : I see no reason, whatsoever, to choose the 1/12″ rifling afore the 1/8″.
