Welcome J.P!
I think you will be happy with your new rifle – should be strong medicine for coyotes!I also read and post on rimfire central (mostly watch the 17 WSM and HMR threads).
There is a lot of good information on this site and Mountain Tactical is a great source for all things Tikka. See you around and good shooting!

Hi Dog, what kind of accuracy are you seeing with the 180's? I was looking at trying some in my 30-06 with the factory barrel (1:11″ twist)

My first instinct is to suspect the action bolts/screws – Do you have access to a torque wrench? I would start with 35 in-lbs and work up to 45 on the polymer stock (assuming that the T3X is similar to the T3 in this respect).
I also look at the bench set up, bipod, bags or rolled up jacket? In any case if he can eliminate the variables that contribute to an unstable condition we can start digging deeper.
What caliber and model T3X is he shooting? (in case the ammunition he is using is marginally stable for the barrel twist). These are just a couple thoughts, your friend's T3X should perform consistently so I would like to hear how things go.
Good luck!

found these on a site that “will not be nammed”. Ammo might be decent though…

Just imagine the damage to the contents!
Not a trick but I find that it's very easy to tip a big safe by opening the door and then tipping the safe towards the hinges to place your roller- then close door and it will push easy. Open the door all the way before you tip since that door is heavy!

I picked up 200 6.5 143 eldx's last week – but have not tried them yet.

Flooding is a real concern for me which has happened in the past – so basement was not an option. Thanks for the post, if it is too unmanageable, I will look at doing what you suggest. I have a golden rod (clone) so humidity should not be a problem.

Pleased to meet you and welcome!
Nice and versatile cartridge.

Your CDI bottom metal will need to match the magazines you will use for the caliber – so for the .223 – short action bottom metal is the way to go.
(I don't have personal experience with the CDI metal and asics mags). -

The action will fit, not sure if the barrel diameters are identical, but it's an easy job to open up the barrel channel if the SS is larger diameter.

Sorry, not familiar with the difference at that level. It's concerning that you had to do some work on a new rifle that should have been easily caught by quality control.
