Good summary of the issue.
I see nothing from your description that makes me consider anything aside from a worne barrel if said barrel was 6mm or 6.5.
I would expect another 1k from a 6.5
All that said, you sound like a competent shooter. -

absolutely great combination – I have the same scope. If you put your stock on E…y don't sell it for cheap. Keep it around and put it on various forums.

I am getting back my 6.5×55 barrel from MT this week (Actually It is at my LGS I am on road so cant pick it up for a couple days). I got the Sporter and have the Berserk stock so I will try both. I got 200 rounds of Winchester 6.5×55 140 gr ammo for cheap so I can do a fair comparison when all is set up.

go for the least expensive – T3 has more metal and I like it for that reason – It just seems logical since I don't have first hand experience with custom builds.

Sorry not sure, but since all T3's are long action, you should be able to estimate pretty close if Youkonal or someone can reply.

Sniper's Hide is doing an in-depth review and project of the Tikka and it will perform Awesome (I predict!).

I saw them on your store and they look good. I am considering changing out most of my stock bolt handles for something else and I will definitely consider one of yours! I actually like the knurled except I would shorten it to the same length as the pineapple and add o-rings on the large groves for grip. I need to make clear that I have not tried these and Jason probably has a better handle on what works well – I am only going on what I see on the pictures. I trust his judgement in most things Tikka!!!
the reason I suggest a shorter handle is I find that I have to remove the bolt from one of my Tikkas to fit it into my hard case easily.
Glad to see you are still working on new stuff!! now lets get to work on those mags!! lol

I recently bought a varminter stock on E…y and while it is going to take some fitting it will free float any light you like.
The fitting will consist of making my MT bottom metal work with my 10 round mags from David Waters. The tolerances are so tight that some of my stocks don't let me seat the mags.

Hi wild, Dogdown covered well the points to watch, I would be surprised if your 3 shot strings heated the barrel to the extent it affected groups to the extent you observe. I have basically the same rifle (several years older) that will shoot just under 1 inch @100yds with factory Hornady light mag 180 gr (now discontinued). I just had Jason put his compensator on it and with the mt recoil lug, bolt shroud and pic rail I will load develop again and post results – I will test the factory stock and with the Berserk stock just to see if the wood stock is making trouble.

Dog has it correct, reload and nozzler bullets and you will do well.
