Certainly the 10 or 12 twist in the .223 fit with certain consumers.
I apologise for assuming that folks will like the fast twist simply because I like the option to shoot the heavier bullets.  I would like to point out that a fast twist is more flexible than a slower one.  For example, if tikka did an 8 twist on their 22-250 I would buy one tomorrow.  The 75 gr. Pills at over 3k are dynamite on any coyotes.  But for prairie dogs maybe 50 gr bullets at near 4K is better.  My preferance is always gonna be for fast twist I guess.

For elk I would use the 180 gr Hornady light mag or superformance (dating myself here light mag may not be avail).  I bought a case of the light mags and with the Tikka 1:11 twist they shoot just under 1 moa

I have been lobbying for 1:8 twist for 3 years! I spent over $800 more than needed on a T3 Sporter just bucause it had a 1:8 twist.
Do not encourage Berreta to import slow twist .223's please!
If you want to shoot 45 gr pills be my guest, but please don't imagine that slow twist is good for anyone I know!

I have recently test fired my 6.5×55 t3 Sporter in a berserk stock that includes a recoil lug.
It tested well (factory poor ammo aside).  What I mean to say is that perfect bedding is not the final word on initial testing.

I will say that reloading work can make your stock work well or excellent depending on you're situation

I have the same t3 Sporter.  I can't say if the Lumley pillar set up will work better than Nathan Foster's take on bedding will perform better.  What I am focused on is repeatable bolt tensions that may make repeatable and documentable changes that I can work on my handloads with.
