I put a #3 Bartlein barrel on a T3 lite. No drama, shoots great.

I want to do this as well, to run a 6.5 SAUM I built from a T3 in a CTR stock and bottom metal. Good to hear that the TRG mag will work with WSM cartridges. I am going to get the receiver milled by a smith sometime soon to allow the mag fit. In fact, maybe Jason could do this, I'll check to see if Incan drop it off when I pick up my T3X 6.5CM that is on order.

Atlasworx bolt handles are excellent quality

I think it looks good, can you post up a pic of it next to or on top of a stainless action?

Thanks for the update. Just out of curiosity, that's just the 6.5 CM batch that is held up, not the other CTR TX3s? Also, is it your still your understanding that theyre going to make this a one time limited release of 6.5 CMs? It seems like there would be a continuing demand if they added it to their line, but Sako has done this before, like with a limited release .260 REM TRG.

Hey Jason- Thanks for working out this deal, I am looking forward to seeing this rifle! Do you have any updates from them on the delivery schedule?

There is a thread about this- the CTR bottom metal and TRG magazine doesn't work with a standard T3 lite receiver but milling a channel in the bottom of the action and lengthening the bolt stop should make it work. I am in the process of doing this now.

pic rails can easily cost $100…what sort of cheek riser did he put on it? If the mods are first-rate quality and what you would have wanted anyway, and the gun has less than a hundred rounds through it, I'd think that 450-500 would be a pretty friendly price.
As others said, you should shoot it and see how you like it before changing the stock- the factory stock is functionally excellent, you will hear guys complain about it but that is a 100% cosmetics issue. -

You are right again, the bolt is not picking up the cartridge, looks like miller time.
Maybe I will see if the Tikkaperformance shop can do this… -

Right, the CTR relief channel in the bottom the action allows clearance of the seated mag. In the regular T3 lite action, the TRG mag hits the action and it can't latch. The idea to put a washer on the action screw under the DBM might work to give the needed clearance, and it shouldn't affect the mating of the action with the lug.

Turns out the CTR action has a channel relief cut on the bottom of the action near the front to make room for the TRG mag. Your idea to use an action screw spacer might work, I'll play around with it. Another issue to be aware of if anyone wants to use a CTR stock with a T3 lite SA is that the bolt stop needs to be swapped for a long version in order to work with the TRG mag.

I have a feeling the CTR action isn't a standard Tikka LA. Maybe the mag can be modified…

the 30.06 bolt face will also work with the 6.5×55; you could chamber a 6.5×55 AI barrel and have close to the performance of the 6.5-284
