I have several take-off factory stocks I could sell. Send me a personal message if you are still looking for one.

Do a search. I've posted numerous times how to do a Tikka magazine modification that will allow you between .040″ and .080″ extra cartridge length.

I've used Ernie's pillars, and don't see the need to match the contour of the action. As long as the pillars are making even contact with the action, you are GTG.

Doesn't hurt anything…and helps a bunch, to keep the bolt mechanism lubricated with a good bolt grease.

A stiff bolt lift is normal. Remember, the cartridge has been fired, and there is case expansion to deal with.

I don't think it will make it too thin in that area, but I don't think it's necessary either…if you are talking about camo “dipping” where they dip the stock into the film that is floating on top of water.

    Welcome Robert.

Try to be patient with Jason. He's kinda hard to get along with. ;D

Seriously, I think you're in good hands. Jason is good people. 😉

The long action calibers use a [Long] magazine. The .308 sized family use a [Medium] magazine. And the .223 is it's own.

    Ante,

I don't know what your limits are on $ to spend. But a really great scope that would match up nice with your rifle would be a:

    Zeiss Conquest 4.5-14X44 MC

I have owned several over the years, and all performed stellar. I send mine to Zeiss and have them install target turrets.

Also, it seems you can now find the 4.5-14X50 with target turrets already installed, all over the place. I think both models are going to be discontinued.

The other scope I would recommend is a Leupold VX3, 4.5-14 LR with LR Duplex reticle. It's a 30MM tube scope, and with a 200 yard zero, the next 2 dots on the verticle crosshair allow for a hit at 300, and 400 yards.

You can google both scopes and find them someplace. Good luck, and you made a GREAT choice with the rifle.
