I have been shooting PRS matches with my 20″ CTR (in 260 Rem) for the last 2 years. The gun's favorite load is 43.6 gr of H4350 and 139gr Scenars (loaded to 2.850 OAL) with LaPua brass and CCI LR primers, which yields around 2720 fps. The barrel is mated to a Thunderbeast Arms 30-P1 suppressor.
I have just under 5000 rounds through the barrel and the gun still shoots 3/8 ” groups at 100 yds. The gun is capable of hits on a full size IPSC target out to 1,200 yds.
My last match, I missed at 800 & 900 but got hits at 1000, 1113 and 1200 yds with the gun.
I just wish the barrel was faster….and would give me some indication that it's wearing out.
Hope this helps, good luck! -

If it was me…….. I'd run some rounds through the gun first to see how it holds zero (or not) before worrying about attention to the rail bedding issue.
There's a pretty good chance you should be OK with it the way it is…
If you do get variances (shot to shot) when testing, then the JB Weld fix would be my next step.
Good luck!

Pelican Storm are great cases. Not sure about pre cut foam from them though. Buy an electric knife online (about $10) and watch others on YouTube on how to cut your inserts.

that's a pretty low round count for the barrel to be letting go. I have ..2600 rounds through my 260 CTR and although I'm starting to chase the lands a bit, the accuracy is still very good. Before you go and buy a new $600 barrel, i'd experiment with different bullet weights first.
On a side note, if you want to sell your CTR action, PM me… -

i'd just use a crush washer if you're not going to hang anything off the flash hider.

Just as an FYI…. I load my 260 CTR with 44.6gr of H4350, topped with a 139gr Scenar, LaPua brass@ 2.850 OAL & CCI LR primers. This load has pretty much consistently yielded 2742 fps since the get-go…
Occasionally I'll get some over pressure signs ( ejector pin marks, loose primer pockets) but never had any flattened primers. So far I've gotten good brass life with this load…(10x re-loaded) and when the brass does go bad, it's always a split or crack in the neck of the case. I'm at 2,270 rounds through the gun now and as I'm having to now chase the lands with my OAL, I'm thinking a new barrel isn't too far off in the gun's future. The next barrel will be longer… 🙂 -

I do like the Thunderbeast can even though it's a dated model. One interesting fact I found with the 30-P1 is that I lost about 20 fps in speed with the can, which is converse of the SDN-6 that I have mounted on a .308. Just differences in designs I'm guessing.
Best 5 shot group with the CTR so far has been .13″ @ 100 yds with a 139 gr Scenar, 44.6 gr H4350 and LaPua brass (going about 2742fps). -

There is NOTHING sub-standard about CDI bottom metal. I have it on my 260 CTR with a Manners T2A stock. The owner (and his wife) of CDI were extremely helpful with my needs due to shortcomings from Manners when I originally ordered the stock with the CDI bottom metal. I'm running AI mags on the CTR and they run like champs.
My other precision rifle is a Rem 700 AAC with Badger bottom metal…. I can tell no difference between the Badger and CDI set ups…. You do the math 🙂 -

I ordered a MCS T2A stock for my Tikka 260 CTR on 5/18/15 and was told 2 weeks ago that the stock would ship in 2.5 weeks. Just FYI

These are my go to loads for .308 shot out of a 20″ Rem 700 (1:10) w AAC SDN-6 suppressor
SMK 175 gr, 43.7gn Varget, LaPua brass, 2.800 OAL, CCI LR primers, 2572fps
SMK 168gr, 43.5 gn Varget, LaPua brass, 2.800 OAL, CCI LR primers, 2568fps
Both bullet weights are very accurate out of my gun (sub MOA @ 100yds)… 168's best for <750 yds, 175's for 750-1050 yds
hope this is of help
