Remove that screw; should be only 4 main screws, that rail may be for different rifles. I bought mountain tactical pic rail with extra steel lug for large hole was more money but excellent! But only really need 4 main screws on rail .. hoping it didn’t damage the pic rail

Sorry to hear that issue; the only three issues from my understanding is twist rate, bore diameter, bullet diameter and fourth might be damage near crown as bullet exits to cause that but the damage at end of barrel should make all bullets act the same

I reached out last year to the importer for chamber issue on new rifle but decided to fix it myself instead of waiting but they did respond a number of weeks later no issues with second purchase of same model in magnum caliber, t3x superlite models in stainless

Do you have dealer info from montana. I would have thought they would post their dealer list on the website

    Thanks

Shows before and after of my son shooting 175gr Federal and how much recoil by looking at snaps of the video and barrel in relationship to dirt pile in background

I picked up a new T3x Superlite rem mag a few weeks ago and found some 175gr hunting ammo to test next week end (I hope)

You should be good up to about 180gr if your worried about stability; the hard part is finding ammo

If you hand load this shows berger 180 vld as marginally ok for 9.5 twist

Just some thing you can check:

If the action screw in rear is too long or too torqued and hits the under side of the rear bolt it will cause drag on the underside of the firing pin assembly (safety indicator bar?)

You can test by moving action screws and then manipulating the bolt to see if it still drags the same without rear screw and verify torque specs after for the action screws

There is a small amount of drag when any of my two tikka’s have upward pressure while moving to rear which I guess is just normal

    Welcome!

    I too am a Tikka fan and don’t mind the factory stock, its more ridgid than Ruger American stock I had .. I just purchased my second superlite in 7mm mag and found that it too touches the stock a little bit but will grind it like my 6.5 creed with 4inch grinder .. I’m hoping to add prefit barrel for other calibers for this mag bolt face rifle;

I like the flexibility and ease of going long or short action with mag and bolt catch changes; trigger changes are easy

I plan to add the Limb saver AirTech and fix stock touch and change trigger springs and add small titanium brake as I did on the 6.5

Sounds odd for sure; I would verify the barrel is not touching even though it should not; I use new dollar bills to check all the way back to action. Verify the two action screw torque’s

I think those stocks have built in recoil lug. hopefully its fully engaged to action and then contact Bell and Carlson support for any known issues people have reported

I have Tikka T3x Superlite with plastic stock not exactly the same but I had to take the stock off and grind two points for plastic rib reinforcements that touched and left plastic on barrel and also I gently opened the sides as they touched. The stock was in my left hand braced against solid table and grinder in other hand

I used a 4 inch dewalt electric hand grinder to do it all just needed very light touch, then gentle hand sand after; now its perfect and doesnt look bad nor visible if you easy and careful with very light pressure. I used a new 20 bill to verify all clearance after

I did this on two other ruger Americans I had before the Tikka also that were touching the barrels

I believe the screw size is 6-48 after 2004; I would try a 6-48 tap to see if it will clean out plastic out of threads; check it in clean hole first to insure size is correct for tap

I got mine out of same rifle but was thinking this is not going to come out as it was a fight

Almost seems like the rail screws were bad or not tight; I tried to get some factory service for my Tx3 but its been weeks and nothing but the original auto response email that we will get back to you shortly; I ended up fixing my chamber issue my self.

I would remove scope and then rail and see if those factory screws could be removed and replace rail and screws; I would verify the threads are ok for the mounting screws

I purchases a mountain tactical picatinny rail (contact them to verify it works for CTR) with which has steel insert to put any recoil on the insert verses screws alone; got mine at midway usa vs direct from manufacturer

Nemo Brake is amazing works so well on 6.5 creedmoor; picture below was captured as rifle fired resting on table; very little movement up or back… a bit of movement rear and up shooting offhand, this was a 5.56 bore brake (didnt measure the original hole size) opened up .030 over .264 to .294 inside and had the 1/2×28 threads because the Tikka T3x was superlite .620 barrel end is too small for standard 5/8×24 threads; the gunsmith threaded and timed the barrel shoulder so the two upper holes were vertical without washers

Are you USA based? I tried PSE Composite site once and got no response on how to purchase in USA

    Thanks
