    Did the weight change?

Who had it in stock?  It seems everyone is out!

It looks like we cracked the long action DBM puzzle this morning!  Next week we're going to start some testing!

The best part is there will be no modifications to the stock needed!

Bolt stops will be manufactured at the same time to be part of the conversion kit and for sale independently.

Laminate stock inlets are now available for M595 and M695 Tikkas!

    Hi JD,

Somehow I missed your post alert.  Sorry for the delay!

I'm sitting on back order right now as well.  It seems Beretta is taking their time bringing these in.

In my impatience, I took my stop off and filed it back.  Looks crude but works for now.

I was about to start manufacturing my own stops but had an epiphany about the long action magazine project I've been working on and it will require a little different bolt stop design.

The 225 TSX definitely seems like a great bullet for this round.  I've always liked the TSX terminal performance.

My ultimate goal is to show some of the hyper .338 crowd that there is nothing wrong with the 338 Winny when it comes to 1,000 yard performance.

Let me know how your rifle progresses as well!

You're right that the Roedale is only for Varmints.

I tested the HSS last week after my Tubb's Final Finish experiment.  It was very effective at reducing muzzle flip.  As far as accuracy goes I was unable to tell since the Tubb's Final Finish eroded my lands to the point the bullets were jumping too far.

I've since reseated the bullets and hope to test it for accuracy shortly.

When it comes to muzzle brakes and accuracy I am cautiously skeptical. ???  Even if it is threaded onto the barrel, unless your smith aligns the brake with the center axis of your bore, gases will place uneven pressure on the bullet as it leaves the muzzle.  The clamp on brakes seem to have a much looser seal around the bullet as it travels through the brake to avoid being damaged if the user failed to install the brake properly.

Hopefully I am proven wrong with the HSS brake when I test it for accuracy.  The machining is excellent.  The finish falls short of what I would release, but that is more cosmetic for a varmint and target gun that is not exposed to harsh elements.

More to come as I have more data to report!

That looks very similar to my 270wsm set up.

How consistent is RL19 in your gun?

I think the recoil will be fairly easy to tame.  There are some ideas I have for the Tikka line in general that will help all of us tune our Tikkas.

If the prototypes can survive this torture, they can survive anything!

Congrats!  I didn't draw any antelope tags this year so I am jealous!

What gear were you using?  Scope, bullets, etc?

That completely changes the look of the tupperware stock!  Very nice!

I may have just killed a barrel this weekend and a 6.5 is mighty tempting…

I think most people have more experience with the T3s.  Most have not seen the custom L61s that were used in benchrest competition.

Did you rechamber it to a different caliber?  How does the Shilen shoot?

My personal favorite for varmints is a 55 grain Blitzking.  Fast, Accurate, Explosive…  Makes for some fun    😀
