The 695 is a great rifle depending on the year of production. Some of the earlier ones didn't follow the tight specs used on the Sakos.
Other than the lack of aftermarket support, they are great guns to own.

can you post a picture of the mount? I bet it is for the recoil lug.

Bob Sled has asked us if we want to be the sole distributor of these Tikka sleds. Do you guys think there's enough demand for them?

That's what we said. Once we picked up our jaws we knew the US needed these.
We play with a ton of gun stuff over here an we haven't been this excited in quite a while.

The JARD assembly definitely has a better safety design. When I pulled it out of the box, I actually spent quite a bit of time looking at how the mechanism works. When the safety is on, the trigger cannot move at all. The only way the gun could come out of safety is if someone did not follow instructions when adjusting the trigger.
This trigger has all of the adjust-ability you would expect from a high end trigger group. That also means that someone who does not understand how the trigger works (or does not read the instructions) could adjust it to the point the safety does not have enough tension to stop the sear.
Our test unit came almost perfectly adjusted for 12 ounces with not creep and a crisp break. The over travel is a little more than I like, but I'm splitting hairs. I figured I would adjust it for the product video we are making to show how easy it is.
Like any trigger work, you must test the gun after completing the work. Personally, I have snap caps on hand, load one, and drop the gun on its butt multiple times to see if the trigger goes off. I do this with the safety on and off.
Most of my hunting is done in the mountains so a fall at some point is probable. When I'm testing my trigger work, I try to get the safety to come off accidentally by bumping it and dropping it on its butt as well.
Like I said, it is possible to adjust the trigger incorrectly and cause the safety to fail, but that is definitely user error, not manufacturer error.

I've put a couple hundred rounds through my 223 with the 12 ounce Jard trigger over the last few weeks. All I can say is WOW!
Personally I didn't think a Tikka trigger could get any better, but this one shines. The one I was testing was adjusted perfectly right out of the box with no creep and a crisp break.
This assembly also fixes my biggest peeve about the gun: the inability to open the bolt without taking the gun “off safe”. With the Jard Trigger Assembly, the safety can remain on and the bolt is able to be opened making the process much safer.
We're putting a video review together taking the trigger from installation to firing next week.

Hi Al,
I've been doing quite a bit of traveling and now I'm playing catch up. In February I hired Greg Beierwaltes onto the staff here and he's been holding down the fort for me.
My apologies about not having that video you requested over to you sooner. I'll get a quick one up since that is a common question.
Also, a big THANK YOU for the Bob Sled info! I tested one all last week and it worked flawlessly. Look for those to appear in the store very soon.
How's your Super Varmint treating you?

It's amazing to see how those DTacs perform.
Most guys think they need to go bigger to shoot further when all they need to do use a high bc bullet in a well built gun.
Keep us posted on how the next shoot goes.
By the way, what trigger are you using?

That is some excellent shooting!

Hi Todd,
Medium height Optilocks go for between $60-$98 depending on 1 inch/30mm/ss/or blue.
We just got some Warne rings in that look incredibly strong. $45 for standard and $80 for QD.
Personally I like our Picatinny rail and a set of EGW or Warne tactical rings. The rail give you more diversity in mounting, but adds one more piece to the equation.
Hope this helps

The OptiLocks are the only solution without putting another mount on the gun. I haven't put them in the store yet but have most of them in stock.
Let me what you're looking for and I'll get it out to you.
