Yea you might get a doughnut, but this won’t happen in less than what? 6-8 reloads min? Your primer pockets will relax long before you need to deal with reaming necks due to “doughnuts” if your loading hot enough to worry.
I say this without scientific evidence. If I’m wrong I apologize , but the doughnut occurs when target shooters re-use cases numerous times and neck size.
Use bushing dies as you like, if you see a problem near The neck (doghnut) then just full length resize and anneal.
The doughnut thing is not a problem for most shooters even competition. -

I have 6 tikkas and I have picatinny rails on all of them so I can swap scopes

I along with my buddy tried to range a deer while snow was falling
He took a shot thinking target was 400 yds when it was closer to 300
He shot high and sent the next 4 rounds over its back
We saw the big buck later that day at about 1200 yds so hopefully it spread it’s genetics -

Is there any reason you wish to avoid the picatinny rail scope mount?

I hear that regarding the lrm. I am still leaning to the 7 practical because of the quality of the brass. Gunwerks is a good outfit but adg brass in 300 WM is so much better according to reviews. All that said I don’t have a really motivating choice to choose lrm.
I just got my Tikka 7mm threaded for my suppressors so I’m not in any hurry to rebarrel. I’m thinking that the plain old 7mm rem mag is going to make my long range adventures fun for the next 2k rounds if I can find powder. -

I agree, barrel life will be high on my list also.

Hey dog
What 7mm would you prefer? I’m gonna shoot out my rem mag barrel ( taking it to gun show for suppressor threading on Sunday).
So after I shoot it out, what 7mm is better than the practical? -

I’m not certain spur mounts are worth the money. I am certain they are very good but $250 for rings? What is going wrong with your rings that makes this price worth it? I’m honestly asking
I would ask with what are you measuring performance? -

The 7mm practical is what I plan to rechamber this when mountain tac gets their long bottom metal on line.

Muzzle velocity will impact stability. Faster mv = faster spin for a given twist. The issue is the distance you intend to shoot I believe. Spin rate decays over time and atmospheric conditions make a big difference in stability. Find one of Brian litz’s books on ballistics and read up. He is a good writer and knowledgeable.
Good shooting!
Ps. Barrel length is irrelevant, it’s about velocity. Longer barrels allow higher velocity to a point due to more complete burning of powder, but 3000 fps in a 24” barrel = 3000 fps in a 28” barrel as far as exterior ballistics are concerned.
Pps you are correct btw higher velocity for a given twist will let you shoot a longer Bullet stabilly
Meaning if you shoot a 200 grain 30 cal at sea level at 2500 fps it might not stabilize, but at 3000 fps it might.
