Tikka T3x Varmint
I have a Tikka T3x Varmint .223REM on order. I want to order scope mounts for a 30mm scope.
I know it has a 15mm or 17mm dovetail not sure which. I know I can either put a Picatinny on it or scope rings with dovetail mount. I don’t really need the quick detach that picatinny offers and I like clean and uncomplicated simple that dovetail offers.
Does anyone have any preferences in the dove tail direction. I kind of like the Leupold mounts. Any assistance would be appreciated.
My objective lens is 50mm but the outside diameter of it is 2.30” (58.42mm).

Is there any reason you wish to avoid the picatinny rail scope mount?

The idea of not using a rail and the mount for it is to have one less component making the set up ( in theory ) more ridged

I have 6 tikkas and I have picatinny rails on all of them so I can swap scopes

Horses for courses , I’ve got rails on all mine , and if / when I get another rifle , it will have a rail so I can youse a scope I’ve already got , has my money will not go to another Minox Zp5 lol
