You won't be disappointed.  In my gun, they perform better than the 80 VLDs or 80MKs

I was floored at how fast they are able to go.  My loads started with the Sierra minimums and I didn't even reach the max.  I just saw the chronograph data and decided to stop going higher on the loads.  There were no pressure signs, but my experience with small cartridges like the 223 is that it can go over pressure very quickly.

    what powder were you using.?

Couple of posts up in this thread: Varget.

    Getting great results with 52 A-Max 35.1 gr. 8208 XBR Lapua Brass CCI 200/WLR 2.463 COL ,

As usual, work up your loads using caution because YMMV.

69 SMK, Hornady 75 BTHP, all work really well.

Can't go wrong with Varget, 8208 XBR, for powder.

So I don't see the problem with getting ammo for what's available then. Your local stores can get it if MidwayUSA can, just ask them.

Same length only difference is the bolt stop.

He means that it was “neck sized”.  There are dies that just size the neck and not the body of the brass.  In some cases only sizing the neck causes difficulty in closing the bolt due to the need to size the entire case, =  full length sizing.  Try buying some brand name ammo and see if your problem goes away.

That screw is for putting on a anti-mirage band.

    35.2 Varget, 3500 fps.

Typical 3 shot group, 1 is a fouler on cold clean barrel:

They are great bullets.  They are fur friendly if you hit them right, small entrance hole and no exit usually.  I use them in my Tikka 22-250.

Don't shoot 'em to high up in the ribs, they'll run until they drop from blood loss.  These animals are tough!  Try to get heart/lungs, aim a little lower than the shoulder joint and just behind it.

I did the camo myself and the A-Max are real fur friendly if you hit them in the right spot.  I've taken 4 with no exit wounds and a hard to find entrance and still DRT.

That last one got hit in the lower jaw and made a mess and another I hit quartering away in the heart and the bullet blew apart the breast bone.
