JES Reboring out in Oregon will re-bore to a larger caliber. I have a T3 30-06 that I had re-bored to a 35 whelen and it shoots sub moa.

You are correct. I was thinking about finding a used up .223 varmint barrel and get it rebored to 6.5mm so it will be an easy swap. Has anyone tried this?

Brownells has them on their site right now. I just bought a kit a week ago.

you can also grind the short action stop back to the last vertical beam and the bolt is now a long action.

I would go with a vortex. I have a 6-24×50 hst on my 6.5 creedmoor but if your wanting good mobility I would go with their 4-16×44 model as its two inches shorter and 4 oz less weight. There's one for same on long range hunter for 450 shipped. its going to go fast

Thanks guys. So I shot 4 loads today and the most consistent was Hornady white tail 150gr. Seems to be grouping best with 150's. However I was trying to improve my shooting technique over the last 200 rounds but today I went back to what comes natural and how about that I'm shooting tight again. I managed a less than 1/2 inch 5 shot group with that load. Probably could try some other loads and get better results but the nice thing about the whitetail load is I can find them everywhere as opposed to others that are only found in gun shops.
I have a friend that uses the whitetail round for deer and the performance of the round as a hunting round wasn't there. His deer all ran over a 100 yards and the bullet didn't expand at all. Both of the shots were well placed at 75 yards and 85 yards.

I'm really looking to build a 6.5 creedmoor so a donor will be in order. Ive seen a few go used in the mid 400's. I'm stuck between a .243, 6.5 creedmoor or 300wsm.
