I realize that this is an old topic but, I've rebarrelled my m695 and it was not any more difficult than any Remington 700. They are right handed threads.

have you considered a 25-06? i built a 25-06 outta my stainless 695, it was originally a 30-06. my intentions were the same as yours-prairie dogs,coyotes.

They are a standard 1/16 thread. You have twice as much tenon than a factory Remington or Winchester but that is a good thing that custom action makers add to there actions.
do you mean a 1'' 16tpi? are they 60 degree threads?
