They are a standard 1/16 thread. You have twice as much tenon than a factory Remington or Winchester but that is a good thing that custom action makers add to there actions.

do you mean a 1'' 16tpi? are they 60 degree threads?

My smith has never commented on the degree of the threads but 1″ x 16 TPI is correct.

Found the answer on another forum.
Tikka barrel has a 25mm shank with 1.5mm thread pitch.
North American `smiths have found that a 1 inch shank with 16 pitch threading also works.
1 inch = 25.4mm
1/16 = .0625 inch; 1.5mm = .0590 inchSo looks like the conversion from metric to inches is close enough for a lathe without metric indexing.
