I also thought I would pass this along to :
I had a hunter lite in .243 . The plastic magazines
Are not so great Maby fine for hunting use but
Regular range use get spares. Also if you reload and
Want to load long to touch the rifleing forget it.
My copie had a piss poor fitted recoil lug and
The rifle shot poor and recoiled heavy . I suspect the lug.
I liked the action so much I got the CTR. It's
Smooth like a custom action. I installed a Boyds stock and pillar
Beded it. Its a .260. Mild recoil . working up a load 3 shot clusters just happen. Shot a .75 in 5 shot group and that was not
Even the in the sweet spot yet. -

Same triggers, ctr is a medium weight barrel.
I have a CTR the stock is quite good and firm.
Better than I expected.
Sounds like you want a lite (hunter /stainless version) with a custom choped and threaded barrel in stainless .
comes with a nice wood stock (will need bedding) -

The lug needs to be fully epoxied into the stock. Tape the top of the lug (the receiver side only). Get shim stock or a fealer gauge select the thickness that will wedge the lug in place. Cut a piece that will sit flush with the receiver and wedge it in there to hold the lug fully foward and the lug is seated fully flat into the receiver . now bed in the epoxy. When you remove action from stock you can remove the shim and tape. You now only have contact on the lug front face.

I just received a Boyds stock that fit the action nice. I milled the mag area to fit a ctr.

Eh, I have no idea, do you want a tube gun? Want a max adjutible stock regardless of cost? My advice is buy a stock from here that doesn't break the bank.
Boyds stocks are under $100 . No bank to break there. When i
Do spend cash for a stock it will be a Maners T4. The boyds will be a great stock to pratice pilliar beding on.

He's wondering if the Boyds T3 Varmint / detachable box mag stock he's ordered will work with the CTR bottom metal. Whether the box mag inletting they offer will work with the CTR factory bottom metal.
I think we may have confused some people, or I'm totally confused! Lol…
Thats spot on. Thanks

Thanks dawg.
Do you think the profile of the stock has enough meat on it to fit it? -

I ask because i ordered Boyds laminated stock.
That was listed as detachable box magazine/varmint barrel
Its really for a varmint T3 Im wondering how close tht CTR bottom metal will fit.
Its a range only rifle. Not to worried about loosing a mag. -

I have the 308 CTR, it does have a fair bit of barrel hop…you will need a brake on either the 260 or 308 versions to keep the target in the scope.
Brake design / style will also play a big part to reduce the hop and get the gun traveling perfectly straight back into your shoulder for target acquisition. This gun has no weight in the front even with the semi heavy 20″ barrel…Do your research.l
Do research ? WTF? There are none of these in the stores and limited experience with these even on the net. Now why do you think I would ask here ? Hello?

I thought no one offers a bedding materials that stay stuck to the slimy plastic stock?
Please tell me your secrets and your experience of the longevity of your bedding on this stock. -

Got that right. I have a dedicated BR rig in 6ppc. Its night and day.
LMT MWS is easier to shoot accurately.
