T3 lite and CTR stocks interchangeably?
-
I have both guns so I'll take a look tonight and report back.
Even if it does fit, I'm sure the price will be ridiculous…
I love my CTR but not really a big fan of bottom metal if you plan to use it for hunting applications… The mag release is so well designed for quick release that it a constant concern if you are in the bush. It hardly requires any pressure to release the mag. Not an issue when bench shooting but would not want to lose one of these mags in the woods, especially with the $200+ replacement cost… -
I ask because i ordered Boyds laminated stock.
That was listed as detachable box magazine/varmint barrel
Its really for a varmint T3 Im wondering how close tht CTR bottom metal will fit.
Its a range only rifle. Not to worried about loosing a mag. -
The CTR bottom metal will not fit a T3 Lite stock without a custom fit.
Its not a direct drop in..The CTR metal has a wider channel milled into the stock. -
Thanks dawg.
Do you think the profile of the stock has enough meat on it to fit it? -
The stocks are all generic in size, only the inletting is different from what I can see.
You should have no trouble milling it if you can find someone to do it.The CTR bottom metal would require similar milling required for CDI kit…http://www.cdiprecisiongunworks.com/tikka-t3-short-action.html
I haven't measured or compared the CTR to the CDI bottom metal but they look very similar. I wouldn't be surprised if its the same profile used for both.

Isn't the barrel of the CTR slightly heavier than a sporter? Wouldn't that make a difference too?

He's wondering if the Boyds T3 Varmint / detachable box mag stock he's ordered will work with the CTR bottom metal. Whether the box mag inletting they offer will work with the CTR factory bottom metal.
I think we may have confused some people, or I'm totally confused! Lol…

Eh, I have no idea, do you want a tube gun? Want a max adjutible stock regardless of cost? My advice is buy a stock from here that doesn't break the bank.

Boyds stocks are under $100 . No bank to break there. When i
Do spend cash for a stock it will be a Maners T4. The boyds will be a great stock to pratice pilliar beding on.
