Eric, I picked one up locally and it worked well.  After further inspection the metal wasn't exposed completely but I went ahead and ran one coat.  For the most part the flat black matched the factory coating.  But I'm also going to touch up my AR now that I have it.

I was able to talk to Robert and he thinks there a burr at the top of the feed ramp and said to polish it.  That could also explain why at times it's not consistent.  I've noticed that the consistency is less when feeding from the factory mag when shooting the original stock than when hand feeding through the ejection port. 

All the time. I tried two different Hornady loads. I think it is just the aggressive feed lips on the AICS mag. If this wind will let up I'll find out what the outcome is at the range.

I'm still running factory ammo. So here is what I think it is. For starters I'm being entirely to retentive. I hear what you are saying about shot placement.  My old Browning A-bolt 270 WSM put everything straight down as long as it was a vital shot but know about the physiology of deer specifically, they cover a lot of ground fast even dying.

That is very concerning.  I'm used to everything I shoot dropping immediately.  That round from the ballistics seems to loose energy fast.  I'm going to try some Federal Premium 165gr Trophy Bonded today.  Any body have any experience with them?

I looked at the CDI stuff.  It's nice.  Will have to save some pennies but seems worth it.

I might get scolded at but I'm just using a standard torque wrench that I can find local in Texas. Its just a typical dial up wrench. Can't remember the brand.

Being a lighter load I don't know how they will do beyond 100 yards but I was truly surprised with them. Glad they shot well.

Maybe somebody with more knowledge then me could attest to the ballistics and performance of the 150 grain rounds.

I took Yukonal's advice. I just got my new recoil lug yesterday. So I'm gonna re torque the action when I swap the lug tomorrow. You guys have really been great on here. I look forward to reading from everyone!

I didn't notice any issues with the recoil lug but I'll be ordering one from the Tikka Store today on your suggestion.

No crack.  I'll back it off to be cautious but I guess my concern is that now that it is at 51 have things settled with that torque to where 45 wouldn't be enough?

Yea I'm using a good torque wrench. Beretta told me 47-53 so I went kind of in the middle.  Shot it, pulled it of the stock, checked it and back together. All looks good.

I've shot it for 200 since. Not arguing just stating.

That's what the guy said and just said to take the screw out and carry on.  He said he has received several calls with this question lately and that is the answer.  Weird but I guess they know something I don't.
