    Congrats on your new rifle!

    If you want to lighten the trigger pull a bit, get a varmint spring by “Ernie the gunsmith”.  I use one on my T3 Sporter and it is a delight!

    Ok if you are serious about 1k shooting you have to go with the 30 cal and maybe the 338.  Wind is your enemy.if no wind then I say use the 6.5 to 7 mm.  All the wind nonsense makes those big guns the fact.

    Please install a brake befor you cut the barrel length. I hate taking a barrel down for velocity adjustment

    Look at the IMR 4166 as an alternative to varget

    I have 2 Sporters and plan to shoot the barrels out.  I plan to have Jason do the rebarrel on both but want YukonAl's recoil lug.  All that said it won't happen this season.  Jason is busy and he is competent.  We can have the conversation on details when all is settled.

    Also we need to check the forums to see the best time for annealing.  I use a free metronome app on my phone to do the timiming

    I had a problem getting 750 deg tempilac, I have 700 deg from brownells and think that will do.  Btw brownells is cheaper than Amazon.  Also I am thinking to buy the Brownells premium shipping service which might save me money in the long run.

    This tool seems to be the best compromise between cost and performance.

    It is analogous to the giraud but $200 cheaper.

    Ok the k31 I want is available at gander mountain near cabelas in MN

    I am thinking of trading my old Ruger 77 in 25-06 for the Swiss k31
